Tweets – They are Public Property!

You need to be extremely careful while you are entering your next Tweet as the remarks do not remain your personal property; although they are coming from your personal account. As soon as you Tweet, it becomes a public property right away; it is just that simple. In actual, a British Women did not realized it and she considered her Twitter account as her personal one. Later, some of her Tweets were picked and then utilized by some newspapers.

Thus, she considered it to be a violation of her privacy and filed a case with the Press Complaints Commission. During that, she was being explained that the tweets she placed became a public property as soon as they are placed in the public domain and for this reason, they do not belong to her any more. Talking about other  social medium,  most commonly used Facebook, the comments,  posts you place are also  also public property!

Twitter or Facebook?? Which one do you use?

Presently the social media channels are becoming most preferred and favorite past time for every individual irrespective of age. It does not only is helpful for people to stay in touch; however it also centralizes the entire world. Now a days, there are two renowned and most popular social media channels named as Facebook and Twitter. On the other hand, the question here is that which one of these is the best Social media network?

If you happen to track all the results of these social networking media channels then you will be able to easily figure out that which one of these is the most popular and best. According to the statistics, around 70 percent of the Facebook users are not from the USA, and approximately 60percent of Twitter users are ahead of the USA.

There are 12 percent users who update their Facebook on daily basis, however, Twitter update percentage is around 52. The mobile usage for Facebook is up to 30 percent whereas for Twitter mobile access is around 37 percent.

What is going to be the future of Digg after firing 25 employees?

We all know that the charisma for Digg is getting over as people are not finding any value in it. On the other hand, Digg is trying to gain some momentum to keep their audience alive and in effort they have fired their their 25 employees in downsizing.  As the company’s CEO wrote on the official blog that

“Unfortunately, to reach our goals, we have to take some difficult steps. The fact is our business has a burn rate that is too high. We must significantly cut our expenses to achieve profitability in 2011. We’ve considered all of the possible options for reduction, from salaries to fixed costs. The result is that, in addition to lowering many of our operational costs, I’ve made the decision to downsize our staff from 67 to 42 people.”

With these layoffs, Digg can surely decrease their cost but they need to come up with something engaging now to keep their audience alive. As a matter of fact, they are now competing with social media giant facebook followed by twitter. Digg hasn’t really tapped the APIMEA region with full throttle and I think this is the time they can do something engaging here.

Is twitter really ‘The big thing’? I Don’t think so..

Yes, and I really mean it especially when I read the analysis on about twitter.  If you are a twitter user, I think you yourself have experienced this which is now proved by an analytics company. According to the survey, 1.2 billion tweets were posted in the last two months and to my surprise 71% of them never got a reply or re-tweeted.  So, was the post not worth it of sharing and re-tweeting with other friends?  Out of the total tweets, only 6% got retweeted.

Twitter is all about sharing stuff through links and this phenomenon is called micro-blogging.  Through microblogging, you can also do SEO for your website and thats one the reasons why people are here. But the hardcore twitters are not here for just SEO which I have personally noticed after meeting many. They live with twitters, they eat with twitter and probably they even change their status before sleeping as well. For them, its an addiction and they want to share what they are doing and also the knowledge they have. Its an alarming call for Twitter as well because not even the core cycle of twitter is not working anymore now which is tweeting and then retweeting. Another analytics would be interesting if we got to know how many people actually click to see other’s tweets.
