Record Tweets Over Osama’s Killing!

An amazing and shocking 3,440 tweets per second were posted on an average over the killing of Osama bin Laden – Al Qaeda leader that lead Twitter to a new record. The US commandos killed him in a raid that was carried outside the mansion where he was hiding. Huge rumors were being spread since Sunday night until President Barack Obama addressed the nation regarding Osama’s killing.

As per CNN’s report, Twitter users posted Tweets at an average of 3,440 tweets per second. The Tuesday night recorded the highest continual rate of tweets posted ever. From 10:45 p.m. – 2:20 a.m. Eastern Time (ET), there was an average 3,000 tweets per second that created a new record. Reaching the zenith, Twitter users posted 5,106 tweets per second.

Apple: iPad 2 Demand Has Been Staggering

Apple Corporation has recently revealed that it has sold more than 4.7 million iPad units in the highest grossing March quarter ever. The sales figure of the iPad represent around 2.6 million fewer units sold in the previous quarter, however not for lack of demand.

Peter Oppenheimer, Apple’s CFO stated on the company’s earnings call that we have sold almost every iPad 2 unit that we could make in the entire quarter.

During the Q&A session of the call, Tim Cook – Apple COO delved quite deeper into the situation. The company is coming across a staggering demand from the iPad 2 consumers and is being heavily backlogged.

The company however is beyond its channel inventory target range; neverthless Cook doesnt point the iPad supply issues to Japan tsunami, and is not at all predicting any cost or material impacts during the third fiscal quarter. On the other hand, he agreed that the situation is pretty uncertain.

Thus, why Apple wasnt able to meet the demand for the iPad 2 during this quarter? The company stated that there have been some issues with the planning and product; however, didnt disclose any particular reason regarding this matter.

Apple, however is completely incorporating its competance in producing iPad 2 in large quantities for the quarter ahead, though it is not promising to cover up the demands cannot promise to meet demand.

Apple has extended its production list to 25 other countries by the end of March; moreover, it is placing the iPad 2 in 13 additional countries in the coming week.

A New Feature from Google – Recipe View!!

What’s ‘cooking’??? It could be something in your mind as you may be thinking to prepare something with your hands preferring hand-made stuff in your own kitchen. For this reason, you can try out the new feature of Google named as ‘Recipe View’. This feature has been introduced by Google which will be telling you about the instructions related to any recipe. However, the bad news is that this feature is currently made available in Japan and the United States until now but will be introduced in other countries as well depending on its success rate.

According to Google Product Manager, Kavi Goel, contrasting his parents who could cook a dish by intuitively adding an accurate amount of spices in frequent basis of their gut feeling, this particular technique did not work well for a computer and math geek such as him. Therefore, with this new feature, a large number of people who prefer having accurate instructions and numbers can be benefited while cooking their food.

The search engine functions accurately as an eBook and it has all the recipes listed in it. The search terms vary from names of different dishes to the seasoned foods such as holidays or strawberries. Moreover, all the recipes have been rated that appear in the search results. On the other hand, the search results can even be filtered by inputting your criteria such as ingredients, calorie count, as well as cooking time!

Goel further stated that this ‘Recipe View’ feature would be released shortly as some test results are awaited and soon it will be doled out to other countries as soon as it becomes a ‘seasoned’ player.
