Soon after so much wait, Apple finally has unveiled its iPhone 5 on September 12Th, 2012. IPhone fanatics have been dying to get their hands on the gadget. After too many rumors and speculations that have been around since the start of 2012, the gadget does not happen to answer to the prayers of millions of Apple fans worldwide as well as of its competitors.
There are two imperative aspects of this Smartphone that people do need to understand before they opt for it. First and foremost, Apple’s software designing department has completely focused on the software to make it more user-friendly and enhance the usability rather than improvising the hardware configurations. The second most important thing to consider is that even though the iPhone 5 has been stylishly designed, making it a Smartphone of its own class, still it happens to be a mix of two extremes as there are several positive as well as negative points that simply cannot be set aside.
Considering the specs, most users fail to realize what the Smartphone must be worth. It happens to be the lightest among most of the hottest gadgets around simply being 112g whereas the Apple’s iPhone 4S weighted 140g and the Galaxy SIII weighs 133g. Another vital aspect to take into account is that the device is quite thinner, and that’s only 7.6mm whereas the Galaxy SIII s 8.6mm, the iPhone 4S was 9.3mm, and the HTC one X is 8.9mm thick, which makes it pretty easy to hold and use the iPhone 5.
The design and body must have been one of the primary matters of interest and for this reason, when mostly gadgets are available with bigger screen sizes such as 4.3 or 4.5, Apple iPhone 5 has a ravishing 4” screen. Its pretty fine slightly capacitive backlit TFT touchscreen with 640 x 1136 pixels with Apple oleophobic coatings and Corning Gorilla Glass.
Like other Apple devices, iPhone 5 also does not support external memory option, and the users are provided with the options of choosing from 16, 32, and 64 GB inbuilt storage capacities. The iPhone 5 supports the new A6 processors which is quite smaller in size, drains lesser battery, better is speed as compared to the prior versions from Apple. The operating system was very much anticipated, the iOS 6 was launched a few months ago. Some other impressive features include the iCloud service, the Siri natural language support along with the iBooks reader. Compared to various gadgets out there, the iPhone 5 offers users with an incredible battery backup which is approximately 10 hours of music play, 8 hours of talk time and 225 hours of standby.
The negative sides of the gadget are equally there. Firstly, compared to all the hot Smartphones out there, the iPhone 5’s display isn’t much impressive. Moreover, it is not very understandable why Apple developers keep restricting the storage capacity whereas Smartphone users prefer more and more space which is useful for them to keep all their images, videos, music and a lot more right on the go! The camera, on the other hand, is nothing fancy when compared to the results of Nokia Lumia 920. Once again, it is pretty childish of Apple to come up with Smartphones that support only nano-SIM whereas most of the telecom carriers do not deliver such services, specially in the International market. The price again happens to be way overboard. Smartphones users fine HTC One X and Samsung SIII much more affordable compared to iPhone 5, which certainly isn’t cool for Apple.
The gadget certainly is reliable and a status symbol but when it comes performance and delivering extra that what users actually anticipates, the iPhone 5 from Apple doesn’t impress at all!
